Mulled Hot Mead Recipe
1 bottle Windy Wine Wildflower Mead
1/4 cup raw sugar (more or less to taste)
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
4 to 5 whole allspice berries
2 to 3 whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground cardimon
1/8 teaspoon dry ground ginger
Combine all ingredients in a non-reactive pot, stainless or enamel coated (make sure it has a lid)
Place on stove on the lowest heat setting. Place lid on pot and let mead gently warm, DO NOT allow to boil or simmer. Serve with spice flavor to your liking. This can also be made in a crockpot on the lowest setting. The more spice flavor you want, the longer the mead needs to warm.
Warning: When wine or any alcoholic beverage is heated to the simmer or boil stage, alcohol will evaporate and could cause a gas stove or other open flame to ignite vapors. While this is fairly uncommon, and usually not a big deal, use caution and always watch on open flame burners.
